Safe Sport Training
All registered coaches are required to complete safe sport training to finalize their registration as a coach with Swimming Canada / Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador. There are two eligible modules are available to the swimming community: the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders program and the Coaches Association of Canada’s (CAC) Safe Sport Training module. While completing one module satisfies the registration requirements, Swimming Canada strongly encourages coaches to complete both, as both programs provide vital education to make sport safer in Canada and yield valuable NCCP Professional Development (PD) points. Clubs Registrars are responsible to confirm that their coaches have completed the Safe Sport requirement.

The Respect in Sport for Activity Leader/Coach
The course costs $30 and coaches receive 3 NCCP PD points upon completion. Re-certification of the course will be required once every 5 years.

The CAC Safe Sport Training Module
The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) module is free of charge and coaches receive 2 NCCP PD points upon completion. Re-certification of the course will be required once every 5 years
