If you intend to attend the East Coast Championship please declare your swimmer by the declaration deadline by clicking the "Accept/Decline" button by the deadline noted above.
The St. John's Legends recognizes that off-island travel comes with a significant financial commitment for families, as such these meets differ in our scratch process, and swimmers need to opt into these meets by declaring themselves through the website. Deadlines for these meets are typically set 6 weeks in advance. Where applicable, swimmers who qualify or may qualify for a meet within the 6-week window and still want to attend should contact the Team Manager about applicable deadlines.
Swimmers who qualify after the final declaration deadline should email their coach to request being entered into the meet.
Team travel is when swimmer attend the swim meet with coaches and chaperones without their families. This is an opportunity for families to allow their swimmer to access meets off island without the significant costs associated with accompanying them. It is also an excellent opportunity to build team spirit and learn personal skills like self care, adaptability, and resilience.Team travel is also the only option for swimmers selected to provincial team activities. Participating in team travel with SJL allows swimmers to better prepare for these other athletic opportunities.
SJL Team policy is that swimmers must be 12 or older to attend team travel.
Team travel fees includes flights, accommodation, food, ground transportation, chaperone expenses, and necessary miscellaneous travel costs. Team travel will proceed only if there is sufficient interest. Costs will be shared equally among the families of swimmers participating in team travel.
